othickman 6
So my recently acquired permission is about 8 acres with an half hourly train on one side and a busy road on the other. So I've been down there three times; first time was about 5 o' clock in the afternoon, not really a rabbit time of day I know, but my shooting isn't up to hunting standards yet. I saw no rabbits. Second time was 7 in the evening, a lone rabbit. Third was Half seven in the morning (sunrise), again a single rabbit. Now this place is an active football ground (about 6 - 9 every weekday evening and pretty much all sunlight hours on a weekend), and also a number of foxes in the area. But every time I've gone down there when nobody else is there's always about 10 birds; no ones been across for quite some time. The runs are very distinct; there's a good 15-20 well used runs in the field, the amount of scratchings has made one pitch unuseable...yet where are the rabbits?! Any suggestions welcome, I'm planning on going down a few hours after dark in the next couple of days... Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,924
Definetly try the lamp as there should be plenty out on the night time, just remember the distance looks different at night Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Its not unusual for rabbits to travel further from the warren than they would like just to feed on better grass, so try looking a little further afield for your bunnies, if they're scratching, then they are there Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Similar here buddy Bunnies are staying put now I'm averaging one an hour now instead of every 20-30 minutes. There are certainly fresh signs every day, so I'm looking at going after dark now Phantom Quote Link to post
