king 12,041
years ago when they sent the british bulldog to america thats what they sent a big lean machine but us british fecked the bulldog up buy shrinking them down to be snorting little pigs that couldn't catch a cold so when u look at a american bull u can see what we had bred years ago and the americans had the sense to keep them that way .. Guest Erin go bragh
Yeah lol i did have a fair idea that they would be used for huntign hogs becuase they do look heavy and strong dogs like but still first it was bullstaffs then american pitbulls and rottwielers now its american bulldogs or french bordos its like a dog trend ffs lol
MATTI 34
We have got 3 American Bulldog's at the moment we've been keeping them now for about 10 year's . I first got interested in them after we had 2 lurcher's stolen, and looking for a guard dog that could be left with my terrier's and lurcher's. I did a bit of research into several breed's but as most of you know the kennel club have ruined many good breed's, a freind told me of the A/B i got a video of them working boar also of an iron dog competition. A local solicitor had a bitch imported from working stock and we still have that line today. For me they are excellent family, guard and working dog's. A couple of year's ago 2 of my lurcher's were layed up, just for a laugh i took the 3 year old A/B for a lamp he caught 3 of 7 rabbit's he's also capable of jumping barbed wire and gate's. These are the ahtletic type about -90lb not the twelve stone lumbering giant's that have been devolped since landing in this country. I hope my neighbour's don't think "look at him thinking he's hard" because to me it's no different than walking a king charle's, when i met my wife she had an old collie that bossed the A/B's. Since owning these dog's no gypo's have stolen anymore of my lurcher's All the best.
Guest Erin go bragh
Nice one, nah im not saying that anyone who is an owner of an american bulldog must think there "hard" because they have a big dog i was just wondering what they might have been used to hunt if they are used as working dogs but yes i think they would make a good guard dog but if i was to get a guard dog it would still have to be the old alsatian thanks anyway and all the best
MATTI 34
We've got to know some guy's in Texas who keep and work A/B's on boar, we went over 2 year's ago to stay with them, a real eye opener i could get used to that life-style, the wife's not really into hunting but even she enjoyed herself. It was good to see a dog doing what it was bred for, before the K.C. get there say on how it should look , they've had 1 go at ruining the bulldog, luckily they don't recognise the American Bulldog as a breed and for their sake i hope they never do. All the best.
