runforyourlife 361 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Share Posted October 6, 2009 I found one of my older ferrets dead yesterday. The thing whhich is i have on my mind is the position she was lay in. Has anybody got an idea of what may have gone on, or found one of there own like this.... It looked like she had just come out of the tube which enters the cage at the back, as she was lay a few inchs from it, with her top half in the sleeping quarter, the other half in the hutch. She was aly stretched out with her arms tucked underneath her and her eyes were closed. I have never seen her sleep in this position and never seen her lie where i found her. I have thought all the usual things but could she have had a heart attack on the spot?? Pleas only helpful answers.... thanks, Russ. Quote Link to post

romany52 313 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) Could have been anything ,most animals before they finally die, loose the use of their front legs and give a few final kicks with the back ones.
