newbie needs a hand in cornwal

Hi ya, my friend has a terrier and wants to start working him on rats etc, we both live in cornwall, i have a FAC & SGC and he comes shooting with me etc, but we really want to start working his JRT.

 

we're in cornwall (near truro)....can anyone give us some pointers or show us the ropes, i have loads fo farms we can go to so i just need someone to show us how ts done!

sorry mate cant come down to show you hows it done but up here we go out to 1 of oyr farms at night when its dark use lamp on a 12v 7ah bat and go walk about but carry dogs as they have tendancy to go hunt for them selfs and its hard to keep eye on them when they take off so my advice would be get lamp a good hand held 1 a few battery's. then start looking around the feed bins and behind any dark places where boards or small bales have been left. as for starting the lil jrt off get ya self a live trap or 2 once you have caught 1 let him near the cage get him really excited then open the trap and let him go. thats what i had to do for my jrt as she not working lines didnt take her long to pick it up. hopes this helps
