davyt63 1,845
hi every one i took a friend of mine over to the golf course last night, for a spot of lamping. but before we started lamping i had to be pleased with his groups before i let him free to shoot.any way the grouping session went well for him as he was using a HW100 .22 he had only had it 6months and was keen to get out. any way we set of to show him the boundaries & the hot spots, on route we saw very little movement.and what we did see was lamp shy,and ran a mile when lamped.there is another lad there who uses a rimfire so may be he has done too much lamping there, who knows? we got to a spot and i ws comfortable with letting him have a look around, and would meet up in half an hour. so i went of and spotted a couple about 60yds away so headed in there direction, got within 30yd so flicked the lamp on and THWACK! over and out for it. its mate done a runner but in to the long grass,it thought i coulnt see it.so on goes the lamp again and there it was a nice clean red jewel,so of goes the lamp and took another ten paces just by a tree. i used the tree for support flick of the lamp THWACK! back flip out of the grass and on to the green. a cracking shot not a twitch when it landed. so after i met up with my friend again,he had another quick look around while i gutted the evening kill. and we called it a night he is a pic happy hunting davy Quote Link to post
