No messin 2
stay away from disco, head gaskets and cam chain problems, get anything japanese JMHO Whatever you buy in this size range you will get around 25 mpg in turbo deisels.
bullsmilk 2
hes [bANNED TEXT] my g reg shogun runs like a trooper bodys getting a bit rotten though ....it is 16 years old
landy 0
go for the disco mate, anything with a decent 200 or 300 tdi engine, v8s are good but to thirsty and td5s are to expensive on the repairs, the mrs has got one tows the horse trailer round no problem kids in the back dogs in the boot, then a quick sweep out and off for the shopping or a night out, great motors
Guest RobW71
Never had a problem with mine, A1 truck. Going to get another or newer Freelander. Regards Rob

logman 0
Was tempted with a disco, I like the disco 3 but there way too pricey for now... I reckon the Disco 3s look like those Transit Connects from behind.
Guest martyn
its a fantastic machine, 300tdi is bloody excellent, 30mpg, check for rust at the body mountings, and where the rear seatbelts attach to the body (joint of door/wheel arch), i am a mechanic by trade and i looked at loads before we bought ours even some y reg ones would be hard pushed to pass an mot with the rust on them.. Simoman 110
Going to get another or newer Freelander. Regards Rob Don't get a freelander Rob, the safety of a cardboard box, acceleration of a wounded elephant and the off road ability of a fiesta

Guest Dillon
I have been running this one for about 6 months now, I had the diesel one but swapped it for the V8, juicy b*****d to say the least, the older disco's did have problems in a lot of areas but I think BMW have sussed it this time. Dillon I reckon the Disco 3s look like those Transit Connects from behind. Cant say I can see the comparison mate to be honest.
