HUnter_zero 58
my mates ags scope(6-24x50) keeps going off center after a shot is fired out of his rifel(.17). any ideas on what the problem could be?????? Could be a stack of things. I'm guessing that it's a .17 centre fire (?), if so make sure he cleans the barrel as some .17's foul very quickly which will lead to erratic grouping (in as little as 10 shots!). Have you checked the scope mounts? Stock screws? Is the scope moving in the mounts? Barrel clearance? Have you tried another scope? A couple of weeks back my .308 started to shoot erratically, I was under pressure to get the rifle up and running ready for a stalking trip. For some reason I had in my mind that it was the 165 grain bullets and that I needed 180 grain to make the rifle shoot. £58 later and fifty rounds down on the target in the pouring rain, I decided to check the stock screws. The bedding screw had come loose Rifle again shot 1/2" groups. John Edited September 4, 2009 by HUnter_zero Quote Link to post

SNAP SHOT 194
alright mate..... when you say the guns a hmr....... IS the gun given a good cleaning routine....? Is the barrel ever de-coppered.. with a good copper removing agent....? if this has not been done then the rifle will also throw shots all over the place... just another idea to check, if all else is ok. Snap. Quote Link to post
