richc12 84 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Share Posted August 28, 2009 having only ever kept bitches, working cockers... and more recently 5 years ago i bought the mrs a border bitch, which we have just bred and are keeping the only bitch in the litter.... hopefully mother and daughter will be fine... back to the point, im looking into getting a fell terrier out of good working lines... what do you think DOG/BITCH??? 3 bitches together, am i asking for trouble??? also would you leave it for a certain amount of time , due to the pup we've kept back is only 8wks thanks in advance... rich Quote Link to post

lilpip1234 62 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Share Posted August 28, 2009 ive kept all bitches before can cause problems but found it the same with dogs or bitches so prefer to keep the numbers to a minimum but for working purposes i find bitches to be that little bit more switched on however dogs tend to have that little extra fire in the belly. (i like to house train all my dogs keeps kennels cleaner) my two terriers are brothers (fell type) and were fine until about a year old and started work then the fights started and i mean fights. so be prepared to seperate the little devils. make sure they know who the pack leader is an it will make all the diffference, dont be soft.
