Poodles were/are gun dogs in france, but the miniture ones were really lap dogs it was the standard that worked

saying that i knew a miniture poodle owned by a pigeon keepers wife that was a demon on rats under the pigeon sheds and would work a hedge like a terrier/hound after rabbits! and it had a sensible haircut one length all over!

good luck with the bedlington pup, i have always liked the look of the working types ones and have worked a really good first cross beddie greyhound

Iallways thought they came from France, but ive just read in this weeks S Ts that the breed started in what is now Germany ,over two hundred years ago .

They are one of those that could truly be an all rounder. Digging, ratting or bushing if you get the right one, you should do as said in previous posts check out parents, make sure they work and if their type of work suits then you have it.

Just like any worker you only get out what you put in, but best start with the right minerals.

ive no experiance of beddys or poodle for that matter( i know some poodle pointers, headstrong but good workers.)

if the dogs are working in the style that suits you then go for it. you are better getting a pup from your mate than anybody else.

as to being too big for ground work. the legs are not the problem its the span which would hinder the dog to earth.if the dog wants to he will!!

all the best with the pup.
