earthpig 0
Their seems to be a lot of people in some of these shows with non working lurchers ,i had a chat with a couple the other day and they where asking questions about lurchers in general and i asked if theirs work and they said no we only show them and they said the amount of people that want pups of us is more than we can supply ,i havnt got a problem with that but cant the shows start putting working T & L show you see the ones all dressed in traditional country clothing , Its not a knock at you if you dress like this for the shows but come on you can see the working dog men or is it just me ? Rosetes to ruin heard it before the shows arent what they used to be full of working dogs Quote Link to post

Mars 42
These people who just show their dogs, are just as entitled to a day out as you are, !!!!! Why should it affect the way you work your dog.??? at least now you know to avoid buying a pup from those people you spoke to, and they were decent enough to tell you that they only show their dogs..... Or Perhaps it was that they didn't want to advertise their dogs abilities to a total stranger, Yis Mars.... Quote Link to post
BLUCHER 1
Seems to be the norm at the moment, i met a guy at a show who had a lurcher with him, a real looker it was. When i asked him how good was its working abilities, he looked totally shocked. Oh no i dont work it, but its won loads of shows and been placed plenty of times. Can you believe it same guy had over 50 ferrets, now to me a ferret is a good little working companion, what the hell do you look for in a show ferret, it beats me. Quote Link to post

sh 08 17
i got approached at the mid welsh game fair by a bloke, i aked him if his dog was a working dog. He replied in an aggressive manner this dog will kill anything badger, fox or deer i would slip it on anything. The dog looked like it struggled to walk never mind catch anything. I replied ive got an alligator at home, the bloke said he'd do it. :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: The blokes name was bythell or something Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
It all boils down to how serious you take these shows .The ones i rarely attend ar just that and one thing about the rosett hunters their dogs are all ways in good nick.I think some of the working lurcher lads should stop takeing these shows so seriously and just see them as a chance to meet up and chew the fat about their dogs and escapades.atvb dell Quote Link to post
