Anti-histamines help but if you are likely to be messing with wasps you really need to get an Adrenaline injector. Just slap the end on your arm, pressurised container blasts it straight in. lurchergrrl 1,441
Went on a new walk the other day, strolling along in the woods, enjoing the silence, looked down and noticed a wasp hanging off my lurchers backside I swatted it off for her but it'd already done the deed. Carried on walking and met an oldtimer further along the path who warned me, too late, about a nest in the base of a tree next to the path I was walking. Lucky escape I should think, as this fella told me his dog had been in bad shape after being attacked by a load of them there. Needless to say I walked the long, long way round to get back out to the road.
fin and fur 2
This was a sad case, 47yrs is no age to die and i feel sorry for his family. It appears that the farmer suffered some form alergic reaction to the stings that would have been just painfull to the vast majority of us. So sad, his brother who is 50 said that he felt as if a part of him had died with his brother, they were a close family.
SportingShooter 0
A farmer from Haverfordwest died a few weeks back from the same thing I think if you are routinely likely to come across them, then the Epie pens or adrenaline pens should be somewhere. Even if there is one in the house and one in the tractor, at least you're covering the two extremes. A girl I work with, her husband was stung on the top of his head this week by one and went into anaphylactic shock, luckily she had Epie pens for her allergies and she jabbed him with that. Couldn't drive for two days though.

I don't know if you can buy them over the counter but if you explain why you want one I'm sure your doc would give you a prescription. 7 quid to save your life sounds like a good deal to me. SportingShooter 0
From what I know of them, they're issued on prescription I'm sure that a Doctor will see some reason if you explain the situation and in light of the recent events, he'd be a fool to refuse. And of course, no charge for prescriptions in Wales so its a non entity to me.
