Guest Scuba1
I have a hunch but could you cut the base of one of the stems and see if it is a redish colour in there ??? ATB Michael
poacher3161 1,766
Looks like a type of chanterelle but not sure.atb dell
Onan 6
Could be a Clitopilus prunulus, which are edible. But can be mistaken for a Clitocybe houghtonii which is poisnous.I found some last year in a birch wood with wood chippings on the floor and thought i'd struck fungi gold as there were loads of them but couldn't be certain which type they were so decided against eating them..... Here's a link to them both,it's upto you to decide which one you've got, personally i would err on the side of caution and not bother Clitocybe houghtonii--inedible Clitopilus prunulus--edible
lost scouse 46
it looks similar to the edible one but im not taking a chance yet they all just appeared overnight about 8 of them
Guest Scuba1
Have you had a go at cutting the stem yet??
lost scouse 46
me dad said when he broke the stem it was white
Guest Scuba1
If the stem had been redish when cut and the gills are not on the stem I would have thought that it was a false chanterelle but if its white I would say its a Clitocybe houghtonii HTH Michael p.S. Don't eat it
