mike1458 14
Went out this morning and did my morning checks on the ferrets to discover one of my ferrets has ticks on him. Only about 3 or 4 which were all taken off with correct tweezers. I wonder if any one has any hints on tips on how to deter ticks in the first place. I am using frontline products but wonder if there is any kind of smell ticks dont like or anything? All help is appreciated. ATB Mike. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
easy enough to just check and remove ticks daily, saves relying on "products" to do the job Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Just use frontline spray on mine, seems to keep them at bay most of the time, but you get the odd stubborn litte git that manages to get back to HQ, they get finished off with the tick twister Quote Link to post

lurcher lass 9
continue with daily checking of ferrets condition - as this will never do any harm . . when i do my once a week scrub of hutches, i wash down with disinfectent and spray all cracks for mites, ticks and fleas, i also do spot on every three months during summer and more often while working, i'm not sure if this will help but feel free to pm me and i can dig out the name of the spray i haven't had a tick on any of my ferrets to date since using the spray and spot on, this is due to the products or pot luck but while tis working and not robbing me bank i'll continue i do hope i've helped lurcher lass x x Quote Link to post

stubby 175
as for you not using lotions/potions/pesticides etc who says someone doesnt know of a natural way of keeping them at bay. as stated, check them daily and remove with a tick puller, you cant get more "natural" than that phil Quote Link to post
