After a couple of weeks of crap weather i had to get out . I was at a friends , and after realising i had my gun in the boot i decided to pop by at one of my shoots on the way back seeing as the weather was nice . I got there at 3 ish and walked through the gate at the front of the house to see all the grass and weeds had been cut right down , which was good as it was getting a struggle to walk round quietly , but also i had no cover at all . As i walked round the side of the house i saw a movement , there`s a warren in the back garden so i thought it was a rabbit , but as i edged round a bit more i saw foxy pepping round the side of the shed .

Pictures not taken on the day , but it gives you an idea of what i mean .

I decided that i would be better off walking to the pump house and trying my luck there , as foxy had obviously been after a rabbit there wer`nt going to be around for a while . As i walked out of the `back garden` i saw a doe about 30yds away digging and scratching about . I stopped , steadied myself , breathed out and , pop as the pellet knocked her over . Not a bad shot i though to myself

As i put her up and carried on towards the hedge at the back , i saw two out feeding and thought ide have them aswell .

i crept round the back of one of the water towers and got into prone , 45 yds , clear shot , pop she rolled straight onto her side , twitched and stopped  The other was well aware someting was up , and was very alert , from where i was i managed to squeeze off another and bunny number three hit the deck . :D

As i like to move to a different position when ive picked em up , i headed back to the house .

The other side of the house is a lawned area about 40-50yds wide . There`s a bank about a foot high by the house that i lie by , and catch them comming in from the other side . I had`nt been there 20 minutes and i saw a doe making her way along the edge , its 35ish yds , i put the cross hairs on her and let the pellet fly , as sometimes happens she moved the instant i pulled the trigger , it hit her in the side of the head but she flipped back into the bushes , i`ll get her later i though . I waited another, probably 20 minutes , and a young buck ran straight out the bushes , stopped , and hopped back near the place where i had the doe . He was busy with his head down so i squeaked , he looked up and i poped him one , but as i hit him he ran , not far , but far enough to not be found :whistling:

I went back to the pump house to lie up a bit .

Its a favorite place for them to come from the next field to have a mooch about . I generally do ok by this hedge line , and after a bit , one edged out about 30 yds down the hegde . I gave him a bit of time till i had a clear shot , and popped him one , over he rolled twitched a bit and relaxed . I though ide leave him a bit and see who followed . It was`nt long before an one of his mates stuck his head out , but he was not willing to come out altogether , and i watched him for 20 minutes before he presented himself . I got a clear shot at his temple , and squeezed the trigger , but as he went over the legs started to kick and he managed to kick himself into cover , i looked , but could`nt find him .

So after nearly three hours , i decided to call it a day , i gathered my rabbits , left the escapees for the fox .

Seven shots , seven kills , i really do think there`s something to be said for this pellet lube , atb Buster
