was reading that debate about fenn traps put me in mind of a book ive got here [man versus rabbit] its from 1930,s . according to this there was a lot more better ways for clearing rabbits than traps .this is from landowners/farmers /and the trappers.in saying this the book is biased as it more in favour of the abollition of the gin trap.anyway got side tracked slightly explaining what the book was about.the point i wrote this theres a full page advert from the rspca advertising the snares they manufactured one was the lewis quick killing snare which they claim catches more rabbits than the ordinary snare. another ad was from the sspca .one of the lines in their ad is stray and unwanted animals humanely destroyed.forgot to say one trap seller reckoned 36/50million rabbits a year were caught in traps.i know some of the guys on here will be doing that with their dogs . i just thought it might intrest somebody.

Who is the author ?

its not an auther as such. it says on the front second edition entirely rewritten . at the bottom ,university of london animal welfare society.the u l a w s was promoting a parliamentary bill for the prohibition of the gin steel trap in great britain thats whats on back page .i think its main gripe was the other animals/birds getting caught.theres some chapters on setting longnets/gassing using car exhaust .it seems the trappers got more money for a trapped rabbit than one caught any other way
