my old man spotted one in kent in the 60s although they were not logged as being in this area,last one trapped was recorded in 1986 i think, anyone else ever seen one,they would normally be seen in or around water and marshy areas although its total eradication is thought to be successful they were very wide spread around east anglia.

Yeah i saw one in my village as a girl...back in 1979...in a field and a small stream ran near by ...i remember i did'nt like the look of it....horrible orange teeth it had ... :blink:

HERE U GO FELLER A COUPLE OF PICS I TOOK OF A BEAST I SHOT. QUITE BIG THESE FELLERS SHOT HIM IN FRANCE ON A FISHING TRIP.

They were a bit of an obsession for my brother when he was a bailiff on a lake in France.

Couldn't trap and shoot enough of them ;) all because he nearly broke his ankle on a hole :)

He had a french pal who said they ate them,but i'd take his word for that :blink:
