McSparkie 0
I'm having a bit of a head banging session with my mother in law. Her farrier leaves all the little points tof the nails used to secure the new shoes laying around after he has finished. I ride my motorbike through this area. A new tyre for my bike costs about £120 and some of the nail points could easily penetrate the tyre deeply enough to puncture it. I'm sure that they could cause a horse some grief too if they were to pick one up in a hoof. Sorry, I'm wandering. So, do your farriers clean up after themselves, or leave you to do it? Malt 379
They must go to the same college as all the sparkies I know. I've never known a sparky not to leave a trail of stripped off bits of insulation, cut off wires & little piles of dust all about the fecking job! Most plumbers are just as bad.. ferretmaniac 5
Nah i dont know of a farrier cleaning up after themselves. youd think it was part of their duties. Bringing a dust pan n brush with them in there van. Its not hard!!! Better than costing you new tyre costs. I would just ask the farrier next time when you see him and say OI CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSEL LOL!! fm
border lad 1,047
good farriers, are in demand all the year round, if they come into your yard, they have come to shoe, horses, trim hoofes, but cleaning up, well I think you will find it is down to you, take horses to his yard for hot shoeing, and he cleans up, himself, you will also find a good farrier, is a good friend to you, for helping you with your young stock, and any horse with a problem hoof he will sort it out, so for a couple of minutes sweeping, not worth causing a problem for your self,
