From the pictures i agree the terrier looks a little heavy to me but could be wrong, still havent seen any recent pics of your stafford yet either.

Did he look fat in the pictures from the side? Ya fuckit I must sort out photos of the staff but as I said shes just came out of heat and I want to show a picture of her fit ;)

Its not a dull question mate. Every one learns off someone else or trial and error.

Cheers lad Il give him a go at it anyway

My border dogs not spannable hes 16" tts and weighs 20lbs when fit. Foxes in my area tend to drop into rabbit burrows rather than use proper earths so he must dig on to get to his game, when i break through he is always wedged tight and locked on taking lots of punishment usually needing a week or two lay up. Next dog i get will be spannable as i think life would be easier on the dog, he could get to his game without wasting energy diggin on, he could choose to mix it or bay rather than being wedged fast and you could hunt every day [if poss] rather than long lay ups. So mate from my experience your dogs too deep and broad in the chest, your digs will take too long when you could be movin on for more sport and your dog [if game ]will take more punishment than necessary. atb

I have to disagree with some of your ways of thinking about bigger dogs working fox ,if you work these bigger dogs enough times in a lot of places a few times the dog will not reach its quarry and that has nothing to do with the dogs will to get there but purely a physical thing .

All this about if a dog wants to get there he will is untrue in my opininion ,some dogs are just to big for some places no matter how good the dog in question is .

if you were to look back 30 years ago before badger digging was made illegal, surely there were no spannable badgers, so they must have needed a bigger stamp of dog, only thinking back in hindsight and all that!!
