bitch's season?

Its along time since I bred dogs, some of the other lads are probably more up to speed.

 

From what I remember in the bitches cycle, when she stops bleeding the vulva increases in size and thats point you mate them.

 

I think if they are still bleeding its to early. :)

yes you are right, HAD, if you know the first day that your bitch came into season between 11 and 14 days of the cycle is the safest if you want to breed from her, but dont leave it any later than 16 days as the valva will start to close and if being mated in that way you can cause the dog a lot of discomfort

my bitch still bleeds up to atleast a week after mating

and still has pups

so dont rightly know i have never had one that as stopped

bleeding after mating still bled still end of season approx 21 days :good:

A bitch will usually bleed for her entire season/oestrus. The confusion about "stopping" bleeding probably comes from her fertile window. Around 10 to 14 days into the cycle, the discharge becomes pale straw coloured instead of bloody, and this is the best time to mate the bitch.

 

After that the colour usually returns (though not as pronounced) until the cycle is over. Every bitch is different, mind.
