paulhodge 3 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Share Posted July 6, 2009 recently i went out with my air rifle an before i started shooting i checked my zero. it was out, i was shooting about 2 inches low. I tried to zero it again but no matter how much i moved the turrets it was still shooting 2 inches low. The scope is a richter optik 3-9 x 50 i know its not the best scope but would like to know if anyone else has had that problem and could it be fixed. THANKS FOR READING. Quote Link to post

Must be some one whos came across this problem Many will have come across this problem in all sorts of scopes, although most commonly at the less expensive end of the market. No idea how to fix this specifically on a Richter but try moving the turrets FULLY from end to end of the scale a couple of times...GENTLY...and be carefully not to over stress as you get near the end stop. Leave in roughly the centre of the scale and re zero... "MAY" just free things up for you! Quote Link to post

Thanks mate i'll try that. yeah your right about less expensive scopes. i bought a B.S.A superten and they chucked in that scope or that wouldn of been the one i would have chosen. but seen as though it was for nothing thats what i've been using, so its not really a loss bud.but ill try what you said you never know. alb Quote Link to post

woodga 170 Posted July 15, 2009 Report Share Posted July 15, 2009 YOU CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF SHOOTING LOW FAIRLY SIMPLY BY TAKING OFF THE SCOPE FROM THE MOUNTS AND USE A THIN SHIM UNDER THE REAR MOUNT DIRECTLY UNDER THE SCOPE TUBE WHERE IT SITS IN THE MOUNT THIS WILL MAKE YOUR SCOPE SHOOT HIGHER WHEN YO PUT THE MOUNT CAPS BACK ON IF YOU WERE FIRING HIGH YOU WOULD REPEAT THE PROCESS IN REVERSE PUTTING THE SHIM UNDER THE FRONT MOUNT, THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF THE PRISM EFFECT BUT IT WIL SORT OUT YOUR PROBLEM Quote Link to post
