Guest Mass_G3nocide
Hi i have 2 sister jill's thats have just had there kits one had 7 and the other 11 the one that had 7 is fine with me handling them and hasnt eaten any of them at all but her sister has really turned funny and is biting everyone. The kits are of all different sizes due to her not being able to cope will it be safe to put some with the other ferret? As she is a really good jill and although she is protective she still lets me handle the kits. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
all you can do, is try one and see, no two ferts will ever act the same, so us saying yes, may be a no no in your case, or visa versa, try one keeping a careful watch, Quote Link to post
Guest Mass_G3nocide
Yeah one seemed to work fine i'll keep a close eye on her.Cheers fella. Quote Link to post
Brimmer 220
How old are the kits from the jill that cannot cope? Leaving alone and do not disturb is a good rule untill they are weaned. (4-5 weeks.) Some jills will tolerate people, but even looking in the bed chamber is enough to scramble some. Quote Link to post

There about 3 weeks now and are still very small compared to the others that are the same age they dont seem to be developing that well i think 11 is a bit too much for her so i will even things up within the days to come to see how that goes. Worth a try, it will give the remaining one's from the litter a stronger chance, but remember they will be starting to eat solids around now, so the meat may be the savior at this point in time. mushroom 14,246
i have three jills all living together two have had litters and one is lined the two jill litters are a week apart and they costantly look after each others kits feeding, moving everything and the pregnant jill is as much a part of this aswell (moving not feeding) they let me handle the kits no problems at all. but a mate has lost most of his kits due to one of his jills turning funny. as stubby said sometimes yes, sometimes no only you know your ferrets mate ATB Quote Link to post
