poacherkev 64
Ferrets ill for 3 days and no vet? Christ on a bike! . it took 16 posts for somebody to say the best bit of advise yet ...if you all think so much of your best workers you owe it to them to take them to the vets as soon as poss as ferrets go down hill very fast and then just give up and die Quote Link to post

Maria_ferrets 0
I don't know how common it is in the UK but over here Insulinoma is very common, that is what I lost my ferret Weezer to about 3 weeks ago.. The symptoms were exactly what you are saying that your ferret has.. Prednisone will help for the time being but it will kill him eventually, surgery is an option but it only gives a ferret a life expectancy of up to a year.. It is cause by cancer of the pancreas and liver Quote Link to post
mushroom 13,848
if you need to feed them forced put the fezzer/cat biscuits into a bowl add warm water (or puppy milk) and leave to go soggy mix it all up ito a runny paste and use a metacam syringe or similar to squirt the biscuit mix into it's mouth worked for one of mine when she wouldn't eat. atb hope this helps Quote Link to post
