Thunder & lightning

Recommended Posts

The wife & myself have been saying all day that we needed some thunder & lightning with it being as sticky as it has been. We weren't disappointed!

I've just sat & watched the best light show I've seen for years, fork lighting rippling across the sky, huge flashes of sheet lightning, etc. Usually you have to wait a fair old while between flashes when it happens round here, not tonight.

Now there's a lovely fresh breeze coming through the window, and that lovely smell you get from rain falling on the hot ground.

I was talking about a time I was out fishing, just a few hours ago on another forum. I can't be bothered to type it out again, so I'll be lazy & cut & paste! :D

I love a good bout of thunder & lightning, I've always enjoyed them. ..apart from the time I was fishing on the cliff down Lydstep! There was a good few strikes about 20 mile away, over the sea, I was quite enjoying it, until one came down about half mile away! :icon_eek::laugh: I fecking shit fire, and ran up the path back to the top of the cliff where the car was parked I was fishing with this old, chilled laid back fellow called Terry. He ambled up the cliff about 5 minutes after me, laughing his head off! :laugh:He got into the car, and said, 'Christ boy, I've been out in a lot worse than this, that's the fastest I've ever seen anybody climb up that cliff!' :clapper:

We had a couple of days of storms last week. Biggest I seen for a while and carried on for ages over two days. Been scorchingly hot all this week though. Do like a good storm. Wifes collie doesn't though, caught her trying to open the back door and sneak into the kitchen.
