can a dog win in the show ring with pointed ears

mostly ratting . just started back up with the terriers done a bit of digging a few years back . wanted to show this one but her ears stick up now just wanted t o know if u can show a terrier with ears that are up all the time [cheers]

Is that a recent photo? How old is the dog now? Their ears tend to be all over the place until the cartilage hardens between 5/7 months . . . . older in some cases.

 

 

Thats correct Hannah, you will find your pups ears will be all over the place till it finishes teething, if you glue it's ears in to place it wont develope the cartlige, use pva lightly and then you can wash of to keep the dogs ears clean.

Dont give me to much stick boys it was a trick passed on to me by a kerry blue breeder. :icon_redface:

my staffi has erect ears and a few people told me to stick his ears with glue i also got told by some one who shows his staffs it is quit common for people that show thayer dogs to do it but it only works until a certing age

until hes finished teething his ears will be up down up down :tongue2: however a little trick is to get some blue tak into a marble size ball and elastoplast on tip of each ear. make sure it doesnt get sore etc but keep there for a few weeks nand it will encourage corect ear carriage.
