I was going out with both dogs this morning but changed my mind and just took the male Greyhound Rob, so glad i didnt walk them both together

Both dogs when walked are 99% on recall now , today the recall was 0% , i walk the dogs in various places and decided to go down a woodland path i havent walked for a week or so , theres a gipsey camp at the bottom off this walk so i normaly lead the dogs back up in plenty of time so i can walk through the camp

Well today was different there was a whole load of gipsey caravans way up the woods & about 20 dogs baying for blood  so Rob bolted , never seen him open up before & he can shift :o

The poor bugger was terrified , so then the hunt to get him back started & what a hunt i have had  i eventually had to sit & wait for him to come to me , he entered a field with 4 horses in it so i had to wait for him to come to me, trying to be calm incase he spooked the horses , but he didnt even go to investigate them, they were all laying down like he wasnt there thankfully.

I thought if i kept walking away from him he would come back to me , which he was doing but not near enough to be able to grab his collar , thankfully the only good thing to emerge is he isnt bothered about horses because i dred to think what could have happened & i hate the thought of either of my dogs being a nuicence to other animals or people

It really scared him, the only other time he has bolted was when a helicopter came over a few months back , i only took him on this route because its quieter than the other places he goes & i thought i could spend a little bit of quality time with him
