Lurcherjam Not from that part so not sure where but if your getting a vet to legally dock them for you, you better find a vet soon. The vet we use will only do them when they are 2-3 days old... moss 70
i,m from durham and tried to get my litter of ess docked 2 years ago i rang every vet out the yellow pages many said it was illigal and i told them it was not as my dogs were exempt, only one would have done them if i had being registered with them for 2 years, when you have your dogs docked you have to also have them micro chipped ! Keeps 403
There are a couple that do them, if you're prepared to travel a little bit (you don't say where you're from in the NE), but you will need to have the required paperwork, either shotgun cert or letter from landowner. Quote Link to post
Guest mk3
its down to the new owner to chip, im absent minded so tend to forget that bit Quote Link to post

Keeps 403
If you haven't got a letter saying you've got permission then theres no vet that can legally dock them for you. Quote Link to post

lilvixen 26
Good luck in finding someone but I think your chances are slim... you may have to put this one down to experience and make sure you sort a vet beforehand next time. atb lilvixen ps there's always someone who has to jump in and slag you off, it seems to be thl rule per thread... moss 70
its down to the new owner to chip, im absent minded so tend to forget that bit as far as i was aware when the vet docks them they also have to micro chip them as part of the exemption at least thats what the vet told me when i had my litter docked they also had to be chipped Quote Link to post
