the best tip i can tell you for cooking venison is keep it plain and simple ...seal it well in hot frying pan and the put it into very hot oven ..i like mine pink... :D never cook in sauce it spoils it.. a bit of pink pepper corn sauce on the side is enough......before you cook trim of where the rope burns are.... :D:D

forgot to add its very lean meat ..very little fat so seal it in some good quality butter.... ;)

it depends on the cut,

if its diced do a stir fry with bacon, green beans, onions and rice or noodles

stewed with carrots, parsnip, leeks, bacon etc with dumplings

theres V steak with garlic herbie mash spuds with onion rings and carrots and peas with lovely homemade gravey

roasted covered with tinfoil cooked very slowly served with roast spuds, root veg stuffing yorkshires and gravey

or my daughters favourite bambi pie, with puff pastry and new patatoes, peas and onions cooked in red wine

if you need any more let me i could go on . .

lastly let me know what time you want me round for dinner!! lol chat soon mate

yes ,i agree keep it simple .you want to eat it not root it .depending on the cut ,backstrap put on a oven tray ,cover top and ends with seeded mustard then cook in oven .i like mine a bit pinkish ,it always cooks a little more once removed from oven .if you have a roast , insert 2 or 3 slivers of garlic ,rub a little oil on top ,sprinkle fresh (or dried)oregano, thyme ,rosemary and put into an oven bag.the cooking directions should be on the oven bag box ,dont forget the gravy..and the beer.cheers.
