Guest oldskool
we used to have a good few round here,, but lads in the town are lampin them with a rifle and they arent getting a chance. its poor sport and there is no need for it. I find shot hares all the time on my permition does my head in such a waste of such a fantastic animal. fantastic is the perfect word for them, 1000's of years in evolution created a sprinting machine and now we have evovled a dog to try and catch them. often the odds are in favour of the hare,, i think its cheating [bANNED TEXT] u shoot them and its common belief in this area that to shoot hares brings bad luck. i hope numbers will rise again, i dont think there is such a thing as too many! i dont know a farmer that complains of any damage they do so to slaughter them with a gun is un-called for. if i do kill one i like to make sure i at least put it to good use. it irratates me [bANNED TEXT] lads shoot them and the f**k them into a hedge,, what a waste!!! Simoman 110
See them almost everyday when walking the dogs. Can be a pain in the backside when you just want a walk and one pops uop in front of the dogs. Not that any of mine are fast enough My point entirely. If its a bunnie they either get caught or go to ground and the dogs come back. When its a hare, they just run for bloody miles  And in this heat ive got knackered dogs who can hardly walk back to the cottage MOLL. As if to prove the point Moll, tooks dogs for a walk after work last night and saw 3 or 4 hares rise and bog off, the dogs didn't see them. Walked around the field when one rose 10 yards in front of the dogs, managed to grab the terrier and call one dog but the other chased it (no hope of even coming to terms) for a few hundred yards before following it through a hedge. He returned 5 minutes later shattered, I was really worried due to the heat so dropped him in a water through.
