andy s410c 63
Arrived at the top quarry for midday,22c & a fresh S/W breeze.I went to my usual sniping spot in the corner & not many rabbits to be seen however i did manage to miss one on the way .Anyway got meself settled in & had a peep through the bino's to see what was on the quarry wall..not much. After 30 mins or so they decided to come out & i bagged 3. I ventured into the small wood around 3pm as it was cooling down a touch, bagged 2 but missed a woodie as i was a bit to quick to take the shot .I went to check on the moorhens nests at the watering hole as they had layed eggs a fortnight ago but all i was greeted to was 2 empty nests looks like the stoats or corvids had done the damage. Back to the quarry wall where i bagged 2 adults...at last .I had a bite to eat & had one more mooch through the wood & bagged 1 small one .I could have bagged up on small one's all day but i'd rather wait till there's a bit more on them which should'nt be much longer.. End of day photo....... Quote Link to post

davyt63 1,845
hi andy nice shooting buddy & read ,pic. your right about the weather it was hot out there today, thats why i like to get an early start then home by lunch time when its at its hottest. and the kits have to be taken as the land owner has ponies in the field, wouldnt like to get the vet bill if one of them go down the holes. a very unsafe ground, shit it took me once up to my knee nothing broke or hurt though welldone regards davy Quote Link to post

Pikey09 0
nice pic and looks a scorcher of a day, have to agree with davyt63, also had a same incident where i am trying to minimise damage to farmers land but within a matter of days of not visiting my permission was greeted by a gentle stroll and then a pain stakingly twisted ankle from about a new 2-3 ft drop where new holes had been dug.
