RWDSteve 0
I've just bought some Turkey Mince for working dogs from Pets at Home. 18% Protein and no additives or cereal, I'll feed it alongside dry ferret biscuits plus the odd egg. I reckon it'll be ok but just wondering about other peoples opinions (helpful ones) or does anyone else use it? Its only 75p a packet and I give a bit to the pup aswell. They do Beef and Lamb aswell but its not as high in Protein. Quote Link to post

SPOTTY BACKED BIG RACK 90
out of interest what protein is the beef and lamb that they do ? Quote Link to post
RWDSteve 0
I think the Beef and Lamb were about 14-15% but I'm not totally sure. You couldn't use it to purely feed a dog it'd cost a fair bit but for a Fert its ideal. Just buy a few packs n chuck em in the freezer. Quote Link to post
rangers 0
i have used it a few times Quote Link to post

Ive bought their mince for dogs in the past but find it too expensive now , but the real snag is its soaked in water to make up the weight ,try putting it in a bowl to thaw out ,the amount of liquid that comes out is unbeleivable. Asda do an economy mince for around £1.30 per 800g,that is much drier, ie less water. Not sure of the protein content ,but might be worth a look? Edited May 28, 2009 by inan Quote Link to post
JordKil 0
Yeah should be alright I get the minced rabbit from there and the beef chunks for the dogs n ferts for a treat Quote Link to post
RWDSteve 0
The own brand economy beef mince sounds like a more economical choice, think I'll av nip and get some. Need to stock a bit of variety up, she had 5 kits on Monday Quote Link to post
GarryN 5
Some Butchers do dog mince for 20p per pound, Farm to Freeze in Wooler Northumberland do, it has a bit of fat in but it makes a good pudding for the dogs on a winters night and also feeds the Ferrets when you have no Rabbits for them.
