okay, so the last time we were lamping rabbits, we seen 4 or 5 deer in a small wood.

They certainly looked bigger than the roe deer that inhabit this area.

So today, we investigated. We came across deer slots. bigger than roe. Just "behind" the slots was a print of a 3mm-4mm diameter hole. like a "dew claw" print.

Now, i didnt take my camera so you wll have to make do with my description

the "dew claw" prints werent shaped like the one in the above picture (Roe i believe) but more of a perfect circle..

Any idea what type of deer could be "moving" onto this land?

The land is an old peat moss.

You`ve established from a visual identification that there bigger than Roe? Then it make it more simple there either Red or Fallow and quite like JD explains without a visual size comparator on the said hoof print in a picture you can only guess.

I remember our Spraggie thinking once he`d discovered a heard of Muntjac using a path across a field but after further investigation and the use of common sense they turned out to be Sheep prints
