what equipment do you take when out digging

hi just wondering what gear you take out when digging ?

 

and before someone says do a serch i already have and couldnt find any topics on it .

F.G.S. can you not just aswer the lads question...

 

i'm not a digging lad myself but been on a few years back and...

 

subject to you abiding by all of the laws you would need

 

permission on keepered land for the protection of game birds

dog

locator collar & box

shovel (and a graft or wrecking bar just in case)

T bar to locate the tube

a shotgun to despatch the pest once its been dug to

 

its a lot of stuff to be carrying around but if you are doing a legal job on legal land (i.e. not poaching) you got nothing to worry about you could take the kitchen sink if you wanted

Had a full days hunting with a Shropshire pack, had a mark to ground after dinner, huntsman asked what i thought of it and i told him that i wouldn't put a dog in because it was a drain with running water and no one knew where it came out. He agrees and go's on his way, i was getting hungry so i thought I'd stop and have a sandwich and a brew, and let the dogs out...fu*k me id only had no dog's with me all day :icon_redface:

What a tw*t I'd have looked in front of a field of about fifty, :D:laugh:

forgeting the useal like permisson letter , dogs locater etc

 

spades large and small

graft

bar

prod-T bar

saw sometimes a chain saw

machete

spare batterys

410 pistol sometimes 12g

torch

 

fresh water for the dogs - flat lucuzade/electrolytes

money for the pub on the way home
