Rainmaker 7
Hi folks, I'm looking to buy a mesh run for the terrier this week; around 6'x4' or 2m x 1.5m. I'd all but decided on the Canine Kennels setup, which was a reasonable price (not much over £300 delivered) but then I saw a few of the threads on here about the administrators being called in for their Canine Leather sub-section. Are they trading OK again now for kennels/runs? Any reasons to worry? I'll be paying on credit card anyway so I'll be covered financially whatever happens, I could just do without any ballache. I've also emailed Cedar Solutions / The Dog Run Company as they were mentioned in a positive light on here and again seem good quality gear. Their price list on their site is from 2007 though, which put me off a bit. God knows how much they've put them up since then! Any other suggestions welcome. It does need to be a decent galvanised 4 panel setup with gate (the little cow ate through the wooden run we made her last season, and then through the fence panel behind it to get to a cat... wasn't sure whether to say 'good dog' or cry lol Cheers. Tiff 36
anyone who deals with them (or anyone who has been associated with the old owners/managers) after all thats gone on is just asking to light a match to their money. There are plenty of good honest companies out there.
Rainmaker 7
Fair enough; just thought it was worth asking. And as I said I'd be paying by credit card if I did order, so no money would be lost. I dunno about the US but in the UK credit card companies basically (by law) take the risk for you. If you lose out, the credit card company has to repay you the money and basically make it as though the bad transaction never happened, at their own expense.

GameBirdMeg 21
Thanks for the reply. Any other recommendations then? Hey.. We got done by Canine Kennels and I would never trust them as far as I could throw them. Same ppl still running the business. Had the cheek to call up the Countrymans Weekly and ask to advertise again...CW Replied that they still owe them £K's but Canine Kennels seem to think it doesn't matter as they went into administration!!! Cheeky feckers. We had to get our money back through our bank but we paid on debit card sp was REALLY touch and go! After that I found a really nice fella in Norfolk at Manley Engineering (Ironheart Forge) and went up to him and paid cash and the panel sections were REALLY well made by him and had like a 10 or 20 year guarentee on them. I know your from the NW but he did say he can courier them. His a truely genuine guy..into his shooting...actually he is a gun dealer too. I wouldn't use anyone else again. Thankfully there are some descent sellers in this world! here is his website: http://www.manleyengineering.co.uk/dogruns/index.html they were a little more than Canine Kennels...but the quality was tonnes better and i felt loads safer dealing with this fella... Hope you find what you want! GBM

Rainmaker 7
Thanks for all the replies and PMs guys. Canine Kennels got back to me saying they've not got the runs in stock and I'd be looking at a 3 week wait, but they want cash up front. With a history like theirs? Yeah, right.... I tried to ring Manley Engineering (their runs do look decent) but they shut at 4.30. I rang at 4.27 so must have just missed them lol Their 6x6 foot run is only about £20 dearer than a 6' x 4' so I'll just grab one of those. A 10 year guarantee seems decent too, and you're right GBM they do seem better built and designed (hand hole in the door for locking yourself in to stop the dog getting out, adjustable feet etc). We'll see how we get on, I'm ordering tomorrow
Rainmaker 7
Ordered a 6' x 6' in 2x2" mesh from Manley today, which is great news for me but my VISA and Mrs are both giving me evils Luckily they have some in stock at that size so they're dispatching for delivery by Monday I must say as well they were a pleasure to talk to and deal with, unlike some *cough* Canine Kennels *cough* I'll stick some pics up once they're up and sorted. Thanks for all the input guys
