andy s410c 63
Left the house midday to sunshine & no wind, for a change As i approached Durham the clouds drew in & dropped a torrential downpour with hailstones in(for good measure) put me in two minds but no turning back for me .Arrived at the top quarry & i could see the downpour heading my way up the valley.I yomped on to my sniping spot & just as i peered over the edge of the quarryface, the first one was in the bag i sat for two hours inbetween rain & sunshine but the treeline kept the worst off me & i bagged another 2 from this spot. I then went for a stalk into the small wood, plenty of small ones running around but i kept the trigger finger under control i bagged 2 in the bottom part of the wood & as i stalked further up i caught the glimpse of a tree rat going up into it's drey so i pulled up a clear shot position & waited for it to show....15 mins later one tree rat crashing down 20ft to hit the ground with a satisfying THUMP . I moved back to my sniping position & sat for a while but no joy,the rabbits were just out of range & the one's in range were small.Anyway left just after 5pm having had a enjoyables afternoon shooting. MR TEA POT 1,287
Looks like you had a good afternoon out there mate well done. I was out myself this afternoon but the grass(no thistles either ) was to long to see the rabbits so i went round the farm and bagged a feral, bit of ferret fodder anyway. Quote Link to post
