cbw 4
So, I have had the week from hell! A murder and the ladys three young children witnessed her brutal death, a funeral, some high pressure meetings and a nasty letter from the bank! Should I turn to booze and drugs....Possibly. I have been so busy its not been possible to get out on my permissions for several months, however tonight I had the time and definately the need! I started to walk along the top field, with the intention of heading into the 'valley' (Suffolk) to check my zero and punch a few holes, there were several bunnies about and I took two and missed two......lets go get zeroed! I messed about for about 15 mins setting the sights, got them perfect at 80yrds and decided I was having fun so pushed them out to 110yrds(paced) did some quite good groups....good enough to hit bunnies heads, I realise now how much I have missed just being out in the middle of nowhere. Anyhow about an hour had passed so it was time to get back to bunny bashing, I collected my flags and targets and was packing up when the landowners daughter appears........15 more minutes pass, nice girl! Well thats it sorted, I set myself up yrds from a warren and spent a great 2 hours without missing a single shot, rolling about in the hay(unfortunatelly the landowners daughter was long gone!) What gets me about this permision is I cannot shoot the foxes and every time I am there a great oportunity presents itself! If you look at the pictures you can see the hedge line, both foxes and muntjack always walk the hedge line! If I am on the other permission (Where I can shoot foxes)you cant see foxes for love nor money!!! Well took a bin liner full with 15 bunnies to my best mates house, got home, cleaned the rifle and started a lovely takeaway, then read about tapeworm sists including pictures on here and threw the rest away! Fidgety 8
Why cant you shoot fox there? Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Ah! Stress relief Good Shooting Quote Link to post
cbw 4
The land owner likes foxes! What can I say, I know I would never get found out, but I respect there wishes and wont shoot the foxes, if I was 400 yrds to the west I am on another permission and I can shoot them........but never see them! Fidgety 8
Fair enough! Sounds like this bit of land just suits them. Quite right you respect their wishes though! Good shooting, like the look of the Anchutz, but the Cz is doing it's thing ok for me. Quote Link to post
cbw 4
Its one of those things...I often wonder if I wasted my money buying this set up (If the wife found out I would be in deep sh1t), as you say the CZ is an excelent rifle, I could have bought a shotgun and a 243 for the dosh I spent on this set up! That said I do enjoy shooting targets at long range and am lead to believe this is the rifle to do that!!?? Also perhaps its like my sunglasses, because I spent too much money on them/it I look after them/it!!!!! CBW Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Rest assured that if funds would have allowed, Annie would have been on the shopping list! That said, very pleased with the CZ and SAC mod, only mildly let down by the dreadful trigger ...... trigger kit on it's way, so hopefully the 1" groups at 50m will tighten up a bit! What's your grouping like? Quote Link to post
cbw 4
I am not the worlds greatest shot by any stretch of the imagination, but as I said earlier I am consistantly doing bunny heads at 110yrds(paced).,....1.5ish inch with the odd fligher!!!! Fidgety 8
I'll try the 100m when the trigger is done, as currently all over the place at that range! I'm assuming youre using subsonics? Quote Link to post
cbw 4
Eley subs, I have tried several others including high velocity stuff, I cannot fault the Eleys apart from the fact they smell really odd!!!! Time for bed! CBW Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Alright mate, seeing as you can't shoot foxes on that permission, And your right to respect the landowners wishes, why not set up a stink tube or similar on your other permisssion and attract them over where you can take them out.... Worth a try mate..... Snap. Quote Link to post
