Monkey Boy 0
Hi everyone, Well just been reading this weeks edition of The Countryman's Weekly and noticed a topic on the very first page about the changes put forward to the Dangerous Dog's Act, the main being that it will NO longer be put down to GENETIC'S i.e American pitbull for example, Emphersis will now be put on the owner to control the behaviour of their dog and how the owner treats that dog, But what has got my back up is the very last paragraph that Quotes " Lord Redesdale agreed to review various parts of this Bill, including removing a clause which would make it an offence to keep a dog that has injured another dog or animal. IT IS FEARED THAT THIS COULD LEAD TO THE SEIZURE OF A DOG THAT ATTACKED A RAT OR RABBIT". Now were does that leave us and people like myself that use our dogs to control Rats and Rabbits??????????????????????????
Guest manda
Great just another way to enforce the ban on hunting animals!

Hollie 21
I don't agree with the DDA *BUT* if they change it or get rid of it, ALL our dogs could be percieved as dangerous, resulting in being destroyed :realmad:
Tiff 36
so the old plan was to vilify and ban specific breeds, now it is to go after specific dogs who injure animals without clarifying which animals ... on the surface it appeared to be good, but now with the new language being scrutinized the DDA is worse than before! Think you will find its directed more at the attacks on peoples pets as opposed to wildlife....at least that was the idea.....personally i think the ammendmants could be worse....then again rebuilding the dda is a bit like trying to rebuild the titanic ! Cold Ethyl 63
Its aimed at everything My bitch was playing with a staffy for 5/10 mins one day and it turned and bit her on the face for no reason took a hell of a chunk including mucsle that had to be stitched at the vets etc.She turned on it and nearly killed the dog leaving it in a bad state. The lady who owned the dog never once tried to stop them rolling around on the floor and never said a word or moved an inch the whole time im in there trying to split them up.The i find out shes called the coppers and shes been charged as she was under an order to keep her dog muzzled and on lead outside all the time.If this is the case then both dogs would be destroyed or confiscated then?Even though as far as i can see she was in the wrong? I can see why theyd do it against people whos dogs kill cats as some people seem to enjoy the notion of their dog killing a cat and have been know to almost brag about it
