The Summer edition of Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine is in the shops tomorrow with full details of the Irish Game Fair and Flavour Fine Food Festival planned for Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 29th & 30th June AND as a huge bonus for readers it includes a £10 voucher off the price of admission for a couple or family at the fair at Shanes Castle or if you can't make Shanes Castle, the voucher can be used for a €15 off a couple of family admission to the fair at Birr Castle, Co Offaly on the 31st August/1st September. Saturday 8th June 2013 North Down Lurcher and Terrier Club are running their show at Movilla Road, Newtownards, Co Down this Saturday 8th June 2013. The show will start at 11.00 am and will be a qualifer for the Master Mc Grath at Shanes Castle and the 5 Nations at Birr Castle. It has saddened me greatly to see the angry disputes start up again over terrier, whippet and lurcher racing and showing again in Ireland. If its not the workers v the 'show ponies' , it is allegations of unregistered greyhounds racing as lurchers. Farney Harriers 2nd Annual Dog Show and Race Day Sunday 9th June 13 ( Please Note Change of Date) Farney Harriers 2nd Annual Dog Show, Race Day, and Family day out, will take place this year : On Sunday 9th June in Dundalk Co. Louth . The venue will be at the same place as last year at Junction 18 just of the M1 motorway. There will be the usual classes for Terriers, Lurchers, Whippets, Hounds, Gundogs and Pets. As it is a family day out, there will be a Bouncy Castle , Pony Rides and Face painting if weather permits. There will be some trade stands and hot food served all day. Show

Minerock Harriers Hunt Club are holding their annual Dog Show this Sunday 2nd June 2013 in Caim, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. I was down at this show two years ago and boy what a show and Race day. Well recognised by Ireland's Country Sports Community as a great event for Irish Country Sports, the National Countrysports Fair at Moira is widely acclaimed for the quality of its stands, their displays and demonstrations, and indeed lived up very much to their name again this year. From 10 O Clock Saturday morning the crowds rolled up in force both for the Game Fair, Dog Show and Simulated Racing.
