Hi all, I'm a mature (pushing 40), responsible (company manager) airgun shooter with a sub 12 ft.lb PCP. I'm drawing a blank finding a regular permission around my local area, so would be very keen to hear from anyone in Cambridgeshire with a rabbit or pigeon population which needs reducing. I'm a member of BASC, fully insured, take a very cautious view towards safety and grew up amongst the farming community in the depths of Norfolk, so well versed in how to behave around crops and livestock. and wood pigeon, crows, rats, etc. It's a bit of a long shot, judging by the shear number of rabbits and pigeons around here. I started hunting at the age of 11, and progressed from an air rifle to shotgun, and then to firearms, and I'm now back to an air rifle. Gives them a bit of a sporting chance, but not much. I understand there's loads of people looking for shooting, but if you don't ask you don't get!! Not long out of the army after 22 years, spent last 6 years in Germany where I did my German hunting licence quals. In that time I was lucky to get to shoot roe , fallow , red deer, wild boar( most exciting) as well as the smaller game.(pigeons,crows rabbit etc are all classed as game over there). Moved back to Northumberland, however being away for so long things have changed here,so i'm finding it tough getting some shooting. Had SGC for nearly 30 yrs, FAC for 15, open license for verm -
