Cheers. Think I will take the plunge on the 10mm mould. Should be OK with theraband flats I guess. I'm shooting straight cut singles (20mm) at the moment so might have to adjust a bit for the heavier lead? Maybe tapered or wide and folded

Never done it before. Thinking size 1 (10mm sinkers weighing 8 grams) of these - just shy of £15. Or should I save my money for something in a different calibre or a better quality mould?

I prefer flats to shoot (TBG) but I use tubes. with flats I'm always conscious of catching them in my pocket or something. A small nick soon breaks a band when you stretch it. Tubes just last longer and still chuck ammo well enough. For big stuff, big tubes/squares are decent.

Not a particularly special one, but the only one I think I have before photos for. The forks are a lot shorter now. Almost like a PFS. Sadly I can't get on with it

My draw length is 32", I cut my tubes at 33cm then looped, shoots m.8 hexnuts great, have taken loads of game with this set up. What tubes do you use for this setup? Im gradually moving through squares, flats, big tubes, chains and now small tubes so trying as many combinations as I can

I'll get some M 8 and M 10 to try out. The 2040 seem a lot more "shootable" than 1745 to me. Cant quite put my finger on it, they just feel better - nice and light almost like shooting flats, plenty of speed. Perfect combo for 9.5mm steel I reckon

I'm curious - how long do you lads cut your dankung tubes for hunting (and what's your draw length if you know it off hand)? I know tubes need to ideally be just about maxed out at your normal draw. 1745 cut short enough for me to max them (with a 30" draw) seems a pretty heavy pull for flinging 9.5mm steel. Recently shooting amber 2040s with the 9.5mm steel. Anyone reckon these bands can handle bigger ammo like hex nuts? Got to try some but my local Wilkos dont have any. I cut 2040 at 14" to loop (I lose an inch or so in tying off at the pouch) and draw to around 30" Also shoot

Fingerless gloves are alright I find - gotta have fingerless for the ammo and pouch. Just wrap a few thera strips around the catty for grip.

I assume big tubes like 4070 or 5080? Modern tubes like to have the balls stretched out of them to perform best so can often be as short as 6-8" Cut a bit long and keep reducing half an inch til you feel like youre almost maxing them out at full draw

I make some, buy some. Big rock pouches I make myself, I buy smaller ones for flat bands. For free leather try furniture shops. They often have patches of leather to take away to see what you would want on a leather sofa. Some are shit and really stretchy, some are alright. All worth a go though cos the price is right

Tubes gotta be the best value in terms of shots per £££. I like neoprene squares for big ammo (6 or 7mm) or Dankung 4070/5080 tubes. For flats the asda ones are good but I don't shoot flats much. I go for theraband gold when I do, which definitely isn't that cost effective sometimes (cut and tie carefully and it lasts alright, but not a fraction of tubes/squares). Course if you wanna shoot 3/8" steelies then looped thin tubes (2040, 1745, 1842) are a good choice, also cheap

Evening all. First post. Weirdly I find that with flats and small ammo I hold in my left hand and aim back to my right eye (which is my strongest). If I shoot big ammo with big tubes or squares I shoot instinctive without aiming, holding in my right hand. Im not bad with either but for some reason struggle with aiming and reference points etc with big ammo, it just works better in the other hand
