  1. Hi guys I'm after some help on purchasing these trousers I think they'd be ideal for me but I cannot seem to get my size which is 32 medium for love nor money any site suggestions or similar hard wearing trousers that you can recommend would be appreciated cheers ?

  4. it's not the breed as such pal I think any pig over 60 or 80kg it's classed as bacon because the bigger the pig the fatter they get and then you get the really large pigs that are for sausages a friend of mine has two up his place and they are gigantic the ones got to be 400kg + he's Guna have to kill them on site though I think, well I wouldn't fancy trying to get them in a stock box anyway lol a live weight of around 110-115kg is what we send our pigs for bacon try to get porkers around -90 and hog roast around 70-75 but that's a commercial unit and they say gos make the best bacon but I'd a

  6. I believe it's the bacon and sausage pigs which it effects more pal, as they mature into adulthood
  7. Exactly, I don't care about them been friendly, although it helps when it's time to slaughter them for loading, otherwise they can be totally wild if they taste good ! Sure the Mrs will like scratching and petting them though.What did you feed them ? Sounds like weight gain pellets ? And veg. I am hoping to have a walk round the markets/shops locally and find a supply of veg to mix in, and I have a supplier of carrots, £20 for a ton, loaded with a forklift and the last ton I collected was over 2 ton ! I can also easily get wheat and barley, have an orchard so lots of apples, pears and plum

Mine were gos x pietrane pal and they did grow quickly, Iv got 7 Oxford sandy and blacks now so it will be interesting to see the difference these Sandies are definitely more friendly but I don't give a fuk about that aslong as they taste as good as the last ones, feeding wise I just kept they're troffs full with they gainer and the fruit and veg I got and that's it really don't feed them rubbish bud and they should come good ?

They were gos x pietrane and I was nervous when I first got them because I spoke to a few guys and they said the pietrane wasn't very good eating but I couldn't of been happier with the end result and I would recommend this x to anyone, everyone who had the pork off me have been raving about it aswel and they were quick at growing puting on an average of 5kg a week, Iv got Oxford sandy and blacks now so il keep you posted on their progress and il tell you what's the pros and cons of the different breeds ?

You done a good job with them,not too much back fat on `em. cheers buddy I'm curing the belly pork as we speak that will be done in a few days, the recipes says to leave it air dry for five days then but I'm still seeing a few flies about so I may give that part a miss, can't wait to see what it turns out like tho ?
  11. I'm lucky in which 50%of thier grub is fruit and veg free from a local shop so that saved me quite a bit especially at the end when they smashing through it, and you can really taste the goodness in the meat aswel, that's some weight for porkers mate ? was there a lot of fat on thm

We sent them to slaughtered on the Monday picked them up on the Friday and kept thm in our cold room until the Sunday, I was more like a butchers mate or a pain in the Arse as the butcher called me ?, a good friend of mine is a butcher so he done them all and he had a leg for doing it which I was more than happy with tbh, and thanks yokel, yea I do like my cooking so il be experimenting with a few different recipes first ones Guna be pulled pork

  15. Iv boned and rolled them pal some wer stuffed with sage and onion stuffing, Iv got more photos but for some reason it's saying files to big, I'm Guna cook cook the pig cheeks tonight Iv been told it's the best part of a porker
  16. It made it all worthwhile yesterday [BANNED TEXT] I was chowing down on tha first one would recommend if anyone's ever thought of doing it go for it, it will be the best pork you will ever eat and you know exactly what's gone into them which for me is a plus point aswel
  17. No bud all joints and chops I'm curing half of the belly pork aswel, Iv bought another 8 now though and we Guna do sausages out of two of them we v, gone for Oxford Sandy and black x pietrane this time tho
