  1. Quick hour or two local on Sunday, 16lb on the dot, quite other than that, must of been a good scrap though took it right out of him haha
  2. Just got back from a fabulous few days up in Cornwall, weather didn’t exactly play ball but we stuck at it and managed to get a few to the boat, amazing experience with these massive fish giving us some great sport and then meeting up with others passionate anglers from all around the world and having a good few beers at the end of each day, we managed to finish in 8th and in the prizes which we’re pretty chuffed about considering who we were up against, also met some great local chaps and we’re already making plans for our next adventures, tight lines
  3. Tidy butt I was always told that stretch was free where the monnow meets the wye, last few seasons we’ve been fishing further up into Ross itself though and that’s day ticket there, never been a member of either of them clubs so wouldn’t know.
  4. You could well be right pal I havnt heard a lot coming out, one of the boys had two out as the Monnow meets the wye over the weekend but that’s all I’ve heard tbh, seemed to be loads of small chub in the swim, pretty sure there were pike there aswel, the fry were panicking and jumping quite often and big swirls beneath us, might take a few traces and dead bait next time and try that while baiting swim for a bit, never fished the taff for barbel tbh butt, it’s closer to me aswel, how far down you fishing for them if you don’t mind me asking
  5. Also had our first session on the barbel on Thursday, ended up having a load of small chub and managed one right at the end of our session, nearly lost the rod it flew off fp
  6. First go at the the sharks this year, quite start but after moving a couple of mile and restarting the drift we found our targets or they found us, hooked 5 but landed 4 losing a blue after a double hook up and the wire trace cutting line on other, ended the day with 3 blues and one porbeagle all between 80/100lb oh and a mental twat tan lol good day though, tight lines.
  7. Couple of fish from over the weekend, the little bugger caught more than his old man and I havnt lived it down since lol, he had around 10/12 carp, tench, roach, the koi and he was over the moon with his pb perch
  8. Last time I dusted the rods off, with this weather dropping off hopefully cod start making an appearance, try a few marks in the next week or two I think, tight lines
  9. 1.95 2.050 and 2.2 metres pal the 2.2 around 500lbs I think
  10. Celtic deeps was alive yesterday dolphins everywhere and seen my first whales feeding, planned to go wrecking and sharking but weather conditions changed our plans and we were seeing bait balls and feeding frenzies so after filling the ice boxes up after a few drifts over the wrecks we decided to get the tuna rods ready, we had 5 takes 1 didn’t hook, 1 snapped us and landed 3, great day we slept well last night, tight lines.
  11. Bream and barbel from the wye and a couple the nipper caught, believe it or not he caught the one on a sour patch kid, he won’t go fishing without a packet now haha, if you look closely on the one pic you can see the sweet, all his doing in fairness. Tight lines
  12. Out of Milford haven west wales pal
  13. Cheers buddy, days like that even out all the blanks we have haha
  14. Yesterday me and the boys headed out to the deeps on one of our shark trips, we stopped off over a few wrecks to fill the freezers up and after a few drifts we filled the ice box up enough and decided to get the bigger gear set up, traps were set and chum slick working away, time to sit back and chill for abit, well that didn’t last long when the first rod bent over and the reel screaming away first blue shark was on giving a great account of herself coming in around the 100lb mark, and the day continued this way for the next few hours with sharks steadily taking our baits and screaming off, a
  15. Good luck with the salmon buddy, I try and book a good few months before hand with the sharking and tuna buddy just keep that in mind if your thinking of having a go as the better charters fill up quick even a year in advance a lot of times
  16. Sorry chaps late last night and flat out in work all day, I’d recommend September as a good month but believe you can fish up until November for them, weather and swell plays a massive part the calmer the better as you keep an eye for bait balls and birds feeding and that’s where you’ll find them, if it’s choppy it’s hard to see any surface action and it’s harder for the fish to see the spreader bars and lures doing they’re thing, highly recommend Sam narbett who skippers bluefin charters st ives he’s docked in Falmouth for the tuna though, we’ve been with him a few times now can’t fault him t
  17. No probs at all chaps, out ratting at the moment I’ll fill you in with any info I got when back
  18. They’re an amazing species to fish for, unbelievable power, nothing I’ve hooked into comes anywhere close, it’s a mixture of torture and joy when you finally get one by the side of your boat lol, and god help any angler fishing off the shore if you hook into one, I’ve been completely spooled on pretty hefty shark gear out in the Celtic deeps and that was with boat following It too, there was genuinely nothing we could do drag was pretty much upto max and it kept stripping, still gives me sleepless nights now , fabulous fish though and I for one hope they stay around our waters for many ye
