  1. Desertbred I'm no pro but surely no one picks a dog for its colour?!
  2. Hey. Thanks, here is a pic taken this wknd
  3. Sounds like you caught it early which is really good, the worry with a bite is that any bacteria that gets into the injury can cause septicemia (blood poisoning) which can be fatal, especially if left untreated. The antibiotics will kick in fairly quickly, they will be particularly effective if he's never had any before. Will help he is at vets on IV drip too. Whereabouts on the leg is the bite? The other worry will be if there if there has been any damage caused to a tendon or ligaments but that will be a case of waiting to see how he responds unless you want to spend a fortune in scans.
  4. Hahaha! Not sure what it says about me but I found that very funny
  5. Haha! I'll bear that in mind paulf! I'll be doing the ironing if you need me
  6. Teddog, if you want to keep me in idle luxury so I can get out of bed when I please, work the dog when I fancy it and hunt the horse and all I've got to do is rustle up a bit of grub I'm keen!
  7. If I could find a man worth cooking for who was any good in bed I would do...
  8. Thanks all! I'm biased but I think he is going to be awesome. He is desperate to get going.
  9. Haha... maybe they've heard about my dreadful banter. A good friend who is on here too is not far away so I'll head out with him ferreting to give the pup an idea of what its all about, not that he needs it. The world seems full of idiots, with dogs and without! Grew up hunting, still got a horse but I'm in prime townie country here so looking at sub of £2k + a season for one horse out once a week to hunt with a load of plebs. If they get on facing the end with the ears they are doing well and wouldn't know a hound if it came up and bit them on the arse. Done a little shooting and beat
  10. Thanks R.A.W.! I am so looking forward to getting him going now, just need to find some mates nearby. Its not the usual thing for girls to want to do around here!
  11. Here's my pup... Grey/bull/suluki/whippet. 10 months old now. Very keen. Much as I like the sunshine, I am looking forward to the autumn! First pics are 4/5 months old as I got him... Next 2 about 6 weeks ago. Last 2 taken this weekend.
  12. Hi Sarah. My pup was 23" at 5 months and is shade under 27" now at 10 months.
  13. Thanks! Was feeling a bit like nobby no mates then!
  14. Haha! No problem there... he is 10 months old and just under 27" tts. Which is great apart from fact I'm 5'1 so look like I've got another horse, not dog!
  15. Hi all, I am new to owning a lurcher and there aren't many people around me (that I know of) with running dogs so thought I'd join up to share my experiences, ask for advice and pass the time when I'm stuck in the office wishing I was outside! I've got a bull/greyhound/saluki/whippet dog, 10 months at the mo and almost 27" tts. I've got permission on my landlord's land which surrounds my place (couple of hundred acres) so a fun winter ahead... Planning on taking him out with a friend ferreting fairly soon to give him a taster, beginning to give him a bit more exercise now. Should I
