  1. What's the difference between the deluxe and the normal Hunter model?
  2. I'm planing on getting the new Tikka T3 CTR when it arrives in the shops. http://www.tikka.fi/t3models.php?ctr Which model are you going for?
  3. Pistols for humane despatch are unfortunately not permitted over here, but I can certainly see situations where they could be very useful. What kind of pistols are available/allowed in .410? Is it only break barrel pistols like the Tuckaway shown above, and presumably the Thompson Contender? Or are things like the Taurus Judge .410/45 LC permitted too?
  4. Thanks for the welcome guys! And welcome to you too Micky!
  5. What's the verdict on this now? Has it held up okay over the last year and a bit? I've been considering getting one of these (actually the Norinco branded version of it) for plinking in the garden and perhaps the odd rat.
  6. What kind of rifle/ammunition are you using? And what were the size of the groups were you getting? Have you tried other brands of ammunition? May I ask what was wrong with the cleaning you were doing? I've no experience with .17 HMR yet, but my .22LR doesn't seem to need much in the way of cleaning at all. I'm planning on buying a Marlin in .17 HMR this year for fox and hare as I've only heard good things about the accuracy of the calibre in general (that and the fact that it's the minimum legal calibre for both over here). Cheers T_T
  7. Cracking photos! Makes me want to get the hiking boots on and out and about. Looks like it's here: LR 147: SN 806 612 https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/shop/landranger-map-elan-valley-builth-wells.html http://www.mountainbothies.org.uk/bothy-details.asp?bothy_id=100
  8. I'd say .177 if you're sticking to non-FAC air rifles. If you're going for higher powered air rifles, I'd consider .22, or maybe even .25 (though pellets may be more difficult to source locally).
  9. Interesting thread. I think it's somewhat worrying that people have started faking KC papers. Surely you'd be able to get Trading Standards involved if you'd bought a pup, or bred from a dog with fake papers though?
  10. Hello everyone, I just found the forum this morning, and thought I'd better join. I'm a shooting and field sports enthusiast who lives in Denmark, but as you may have guessed from my username, I'm originally from Scotland. I hope to come over to the UK for a stalking trip at some point this year if my finances permit it. So fingers crossed! Cheers T_T
