buy a ceramic cone shaped spaniel water bowl the design is based on the length of a spaniels ears and stops them from hanging in the water while they drink, i dont use them as only feed raw but a mate does and he has vertually no food waste worth a try and you can get them from most petshops.

i would take the pup out were there is plenty of scent and keep 2 of the lurchers on the lead for a portion of the walk and the other one on a slip in case the pup gets on a scent and bolts something, just let the pup be a pup there shouldnt be any pressure on it as its still young if there is scent it should follow its nose into cover then when your nearing the end of your walk let them all loose for a run and a play then clear off home and always end anything with a pup on a good note. both hobs and jills work differently it seems to be that the jills are a little quicker around the warren and can do the job with abit more pace were as the hobs seem to be methodical, take there time and stick with the job until it is done and the warren is empty or what wont bolt is dead, At the moment i keep 4 jills and 2 hobs on of which is vasectomised and the combination of both sexes seems to work just fine for me anyway the main thing to remember is only breed from good workers s**t breeds s**t so only breed from true workers and work whatever you feels works well for you!
