    Cheers Daryl, I get the bit about using my surroundings to my advantage, gate posts etc. I actually thought about fabricating some sort of lightweight telescopic rest on a pole sort of idea to help me but I reckon that's overkill. I'll just need to get some more practice in on acquiring the target and getting the shot off quickly and confidently. Your right about the HW77, its a fab gun, it just oozes quality so I'm definitely going to stick with it and make it work for me. Happy shooting Fella.

    Hello everyone on here. this is the kind of thread Ive been looking for. I have a HW77K and find it very heavy to shoot standing up unsupported. I feel I can group with the best of them from a supported firing position standing or sitting. as soon as I try to shot from standing I feel like I have a couple of seconds to get a shot off before I have no control of the crosshair and have to give up the shot. I've tried it in the back garden and can get grouping of about an inch or two at about 15-20 meters, but is that good enough for a hunt? I really don't know. I'm a bit disappointed that I

    Well, a lot of good advice there. I am very greatfull for the responses and the debate. I appologise for not contributing much myself and taking such a long time to acknowledge you guys responses. I really don't know what I'm going to do yet as far as tuning is concerned, as I say I recon the gun is better than me at the moment but I haven't had the chance to get out and hunt with it. I suppose that will be the ultimate test of me and the gun in its present condition. I have a few other things rattling around in my head.     Hey guys, I keep hearing about ppl on here and other sites getting there springers tuned. At first I though this was purely to increase power to FAC level but this isn't the case. I hear talk of sleeving springs and setting trigger weight etc etc with the end goal of a more consistent firing and therefore grouping. I was hoping that a few of the vastly knowledgeable ppl on here could help me out with a few questions. 1) I'm shooting an HW 77K, I don't have an FAC therefore no power increase, so what kind of tuning should I be considering? 2) I suppose this question and number 1 ar

    I'm fairly new to this sport, so maybe a stupid question but what is the mounting options for equipment of this sort. IE does it fit to your scope or some other part of the rifle. the reason I ask is that I have a under leaver air rifle so a under barrel mount position is out of the question. I'm looking forward to your reply as I would like to fit some sort of lamping equipment to my gun. If anyone else on the forum has any advice or other options I would welcome any input. ATB Steve T.

    Hi Daveyt63, Sorry to take so long to reply to you regarding ranges in Swindon area. "The ranges" are actually in Devises but are really worth the drive, you can find there website here http://www.compulink.co.uk/~msinstruments/wiltshire_shooting_centre.htm I can highly recommend this facility as its inside therefore the weather doesn't have to spoil your day and the ppl are excellent for knowledge and very friendly. Its also reasonably affordable at £4 per half hour. The range is electronic IE you shoot at a target and your shot is displayed on a computer screen above your head. I have sp

    Thank you Simon, for a truly inspiring and incredibly informative thread. I came across your first post after a google search for "Air Rifle shooting technique" or something along those lines, and I must say I was truly inspired by your passion for springer shooting and especially the HW77.     Hello fellow shooters/hunters, I have just recently found a passion for air rifle target shooting after an absence of some 30 years or so. I started plinking in my back garden as a boy. Sadly motor bikes, smoking, drinking and girls took over my life and I didn't follow on shooting. I always had an underlying love of shooting and was a decent shot with what ever i picked up.
