  1. Hiya guys. Well since Xmas is around the corner I want to get my little brother his very 1st hunting knife like my big brother got me. Anyway I really don't know what is so special about Damascus knives? I want to get him something he will remember and not just some cheap little thing that will break this time next year. SO any advice on materials/makes etc would be great. Thanks in advice.
  2. Cheers mate, I never though of the car boot sales. I will go this sunday and see if there is any that I can pick up.
  3. Thanks mate, I was originally thinking about a parsons jack Russell but someone suggested a plummer so I researched them and they look stunning to be honest. I will continue to do a little more research and fingers crossed I will have something ready for next season. Thanks to everyone for your advice.
  4. Cheers mate, Yeah that would be my main two subjects and a little ratting mixed in aswell. That will really open my search choices then if I don't have to focus as much aon a certain line. Any handy hints on what to look for when I view a littler?
  5. This one was ok while working with ferrets,no nose down the hole all the time and just held a rabbit in a net rather than tried to smash it like most terriers do. Bit of time and effort and it isn't that hard to have a team that you can trust with each other. Thanks guys, the info has been great and the pictures fantastic!!!
  6. Thanks mate. I must of gone through hundreds of pages of info about them so far and they definitely seem like they will fit my needs because to be honest I will be doing next to no work under ground. I mainly want one with a good nose to mark rabbit warrens and save me a little time when out in the field so I don't work empty warrens/ a bit of ratting. I am still a little unclear of what each line would bring to the table to be honest. Any info/advice on the lines that might suit me better?
  7. I think I have found the one I will buy. It seems like it will be perfect. Thanks to everyone for your advice.
  8. Stunning mate. Does it work with the ferrets well? Some of the forums I have been reading say they are a little hard to train?
  9. That's great mate cheers. I don't mind carrying something that could potentially save me the loss of one of my best little ferrets. I have found bulldog rabbiting spade on ebay for the £35 like you said mate so that will be ordered asap. Thanks a lot to both of you.
  10. cheers rich. Do any of you feel there is a great difference between a pointed spade or flat?

  13. Hey guys me again, Sorry to keep posting so many different posts but I am just trying to get as much information as I can before I get my 1st terrier. Anyway have any of you guys ever heard of Saxon Plummer Terriers? If so can you guys explain to me alittle better what they are like and if they are more from working ancestry or show? Thanks once again guys
  14. Got to agree with the japs eye, but if you like the leggy type and digging isnt its first job then what about a Plummer, better nose than most, buster. Thanks a lot, I never thought of a plummer before. They look like nice terriers so I will do some homework on them cheers
