searchthelurcher i used two ferrets today one older jill and this years,not big places,sunday we used up to 6 as we wer in very lage spots and the rabbits wer runing round rather than bolting, cheers for the replies

sunday my mates came up and we had a good bit of sport on the bunnys,but it was a hell of a day with rabbits laying up all the time,we end'd up with 16 and had to dig at least 5 or 6 times,thank god for deben today is my last day of my xmas holls and i just wanted to get out my mrs and farther inlaw for a look,we only had an hour or two and just try'd 3 spots missed one as it was a bugger to net and end'd up with 2 and had to dig one of them

whent out yesterday and iv never had rabbits so reluctent to bolt after alot of hanging about and diging we got 16

what does it matter,so long as thier healthy if thats what some people wont who cares,i keep hybred pole cats they work well handle well and are healthy,but some folk get in a right twist about them,i give the kits to friend's that ferret with me,or sell them to good people for the same as my other ferret kits,certainly not making money from them. each to their own i say and if you dont wont or like them dont have one,simple

yes and going well,just 12 month and had 47 on the lamp i havnt push'd him, the most in one night was 14,he is ferreting well and marking,getting another of mike in feb

i think the breed is a tidy sporting terrier and they will do me. i think the point B.B.B is making is dogs without perfect coat pattern are and have been over look'd,despite being good in the field ect,now to me that is shallow,the problem is that people wont a plummer to look like a plummer,heavely marked,and its hard to give away shatter'd dogs,sad but true

they were bred for rat hunting primarily so really its no big surprise mate, if you want to save the time and heart break then the obvious choice is to go for out and out working stock in another breed, but if someone wants to try a Plummer, that has a chance of working to ground then give one a go,some go some dont, not much different to any other breed really.

ive had plummers for a while now and also pat's and russells, and ive heard it all, you cant breed a consistant line of earth dog, probably very true ive not got the sport or time to enter a kennel full,but all i can say is there are plenty of pats ect that dont make the grade from the very best lines. one of my plummers self entered at 10 months and had a good few digs but was inconsistant, but the lad that has him now is getting a good few fox's with him. my old bitch ivy didnt enter till 16 months and id all but given up on her, but she's turn'd out to be the best terrier iv own'd a
