  1. Never see any topics quarry based! What's everyone's favourite quarry and why! Also what's your thoughts on easiest and hardest quarry! Do up load pictures! Pre ban of course
  2. evening! after some advice on lamps!! got a cluelite pistol lamp and its like blackpool illuminations! lights up half the field! not much cop for rabbits! which lamp does everyone use? that has a fairly tight beam and is ideal for rabbits
  3. me and friends have always spoke about it but i never knew it was a fairly common occurrence!! do you think the fox leaves to avoid a commotion or do you think ferret actually "bolts" the fox?
  4. just seen a picture on Facebook of a fox bolting from a warren when a group of lads were ferreting! i am wondering if anyone has seen this and how common it is ! never thought a ferret would bolt a fox?! peoples thoughts?
  5. Thanks for the advice chaps! I don't mind if he makes a kill and holds it for me to go over, however with rabbits this could be a bit tedious ! And lets be honest we all want a dog that retrieves! He's still young so i shouldn't beat myself up to much! Just got to persistent with then and hope for the best!

  7. Seem to be reading a lot of people saying there saluki xs aren't all that on retrieving? I have a sal/col/grey/bull x grey/sal! A right mix up ino but just wondered what people though was the best way to tackle him, his re call is ok! Isn't great when there's another interests. But I'm concerned on the retrieve side of things
  8. Thanks sandy! He's not to bad at it but its not consistent, seems as though he gets bored of the dummy after a while! Maybe I'm asking to much of the dog and need to chill out a bit
  9. I must be lucky as mine is 100% howler! But he has his moments he is still a pup and his recall is almost 100% but I'm struggling to get him to bring anything back! He'd rather sit there and chew the dummy after he's chased it! Any advice on stopping this?

  11. I've got a saluki cross and a good friend has one to! They both whine/howl ! I wonder if its the saluki breeding? Does anyone have another saluki that whines? Just curious as the wether it's in the blood

  13. thanks for the advice, i just was worried that if i took the dog out to young and it didnt have its killer instinct in full flow yet it would become socialized with the rabbits. but hes 13 weeks now so should be alright to get out
  14. Of course training starts from day 1 however when should you introduce your pup to fereting? I've been told a few different things and I'm undecided as to when I should start him! Also any advice on training him would be appreciated! Cheers
