  1. So then guys. Here's my dog, he's about 2.5 years old and a good dog. Any ideas on what he is? I got him from a rescue about 2 years ago, to which we believe we have located the breeder. However, the only way to know would be to do a DNA test to confirm that this dog is actually from the dog and bitch.....Jeremy Kyle time! Vital stats: 8.5kg, 16" to withers, 16" base of neck to tail So here's the photos, and please guess what you think he is.
  2. Thanks both for the responses. The link to the prices for ammo is great, thanks for that. The issue with two calibers is the cost....., thus i've seen the Sako quad but then that's only for rimfire. I'm thinking it might be a safe bet to go with 22rf for rabbits and hare, then something more substantial for fox. What would be a good cheap fox ammo. I don't want to go down the route of £1 every time i pull the trigger. My Semi auto shotgun at 20p a go seems to cost me a fair bit when i get trigger happy!
  3. Hi guys, What's the cheapest caliber to shoot at fox, rabbit and zero? 22rf is cheap but not suitable for fox, 17hmr is loud and expensive, anything bigger is going to cost loads to shoot. Also if someone could possibly let me know the rough cost per 50rounds in 22rf, 17hmr, 22hmr, and some other suitable calibers that would be greatly appreciated. Any advice would be great, thank in advance.
  4. Sorry, that's exactly what i meant by i have the land to shoot over. Other than taking the farmers word how else can we confirm it's cleared for rimfire, etc..?
  5. So my little man is 2.5 years old and a great ratter (although he is a pet first) but he sometimes looks fatigued when working. We make sure we've got water down for them but they from time to time look like they're short of food. My terrier eats raw chicken carcass and vegetables, with the odd addition of pork bones. What can i give him when we're out to give him a boost?
  6. So my little terrier was rushing through stingers last night. 2 minutes later he came crashing out dragging his face and belly on the floor. Not much i could do at the time other than rub him a little and laugh!
  7. And while you're at it get them each a flea collar from ASDA. They're less than £2 each and work to keep the fleas off them and are waterproof. But like others have said, you'll need to sort the kennels pronto as their beds will be where the eggs are!
  8. So i had the FEO office over this morning to check on my upsized and moved cabinet. :-) Whilst she was here i took the opportunity to ask her about the next steps involved in applying for my FAC. I wish to apply for a 17HMR in order to control the foxes on the land i currently have permission on. Consequently she said 17HMR is fine for use on vermin(specifically fox) in this county. She mentioned what i would need to do now is get some experience of shooting this caliber. I've done plenty of shooting in the past with SG and air rifles so would like to take the next step. What optio
  9. Hi guys, Got a 4stroke engine going that would be useful for flushing the rats. We've tried making it smoke but it struggles to run when we mix in oil with the fuel... only paid a tenner for it so not overly fussed but is better than using the 2stroke strimmer we currently use! What options we got for getting it smoking? Thanks
  10. Hi guys, I've just rescued a terrier who was about 12months when we got him from the rescue centre. The first thing i noticed upon bringing him home is that he loves to chase things. This soon became apparent while out on walks with him, rabbits are in his sights. He fairly tall at 15" and pretty fast. I went to a country show a few months ago and entered him into some terrier racing for fun having never done it before... he won his heat and came second in the final, a natural. I'm simply posting this message to see if anyone within the Gloucestershire region would like an extra helpin
