you see the trick is a lot of ham and a bit of mustard. stupid is paying a jumped up prick of a vet £500, when all i needed was good advice and a bit of the know. Dont get me wrong, i'll pay the bill when required but i've been ripped off by vets more times than i care to remember, poor advice, unnesesery treatment and over priced. I know my dog well, and if for a minute i thought he wasn't upto going out, i wouln't have taken him. Has week speak he's all well, having a tussle with the spanial, so thank for you king words. The advice taken was via another forum member so thank you my frie

not yet. he's booked in for 1030am monday, but i wanted to see if there was owt i could do for him till then. I didn't know it was a rubber glove till this morning, i mentioned to the neighbour something wasn't right and she told me then. I had him out and he was the same, in and out of cover and managed a rabbit this afternoon. it's when he's still layed about the house you can hear him weasing. DS said above i might do more harm than good so i'll leave it to the vet, if he's anyworse tomorow i'll call a emergancy vet

Last week i was away and my neighbour was taking care of the terrier, she'd been out gardening and had taken off her rubber gloves whilst getting his snap ready. whilst her back was turned he hate part of her glove and is now upset to say the least. It must be in his throat, he's weasing all the time and he's always trying to force himself to be sick, only ever bringing up flem. he still has a wag in the old tail and he still eats is snap, is there anything i can give him to make him violently sick or push it through him???? regards

David said he's seen them go for that plus more. One went two week ago for £102 01 on a well known auction site, and there was also one on the same site about 3 months ago that sold for £120.00. if you are selling yours pm me with the price and if i can afford it i will buy it.

alt-bergs are great boots, 2nd best on the market. i've personely tried and tested these in all terians and conditions, and they hold there own. i had a pair of Mckinlys sent out to NI and the same day marched 23k in them, not a blister in sight. Saying that i've found a better boot, lowa gtx, about £130-£140 new there 2nd to none. this season will be the 3rd in them and no signs of any wear only grass scuffs, there the dogs balls

hiya, i wear lowa gtx boots for all the reasons you need them. There so good that milatery medical staff recomend them to troops, when recovering from ankle/feet injurys. There standard issue to special forces so there really tried and tested. There quality is 2nd to none, they provide excerlant surrport and comfrot. There 100% water tight, but let your feet breath. if you look after them, they'll look after you. I have tried them all, and never found anything so good. also worth a mention is alt-bergs, there aslo top quality. made in richmond north yorkshire i'd say there 2nd best. A

looks like a sale so could i hijack the thread for a minute please, the book working terriers, badger digging by D Harmcombe has been reprinted, no 2nd edt. does that mean that the original and the reprint are like for like, and no differance or proof could be made between the two apart from signs of age. what i'm asking is, if i bought a reprint new, as apose to a old second hand, there would be no value differance, thanks for any help

Thanks sky, i've been washing them down and using spray savalon when cut, here's the poor bugger. Nice strong head and neck but dont know where the ears come from

hiya bigdan, thats the plan. he's really keen so i hope it all works out. it's not quite the same to a experianced terrierman i know but if i can get out with him on a regular basis it will be worth while.

cheers mate, out early next week so we'll see what he's like?? got a reaction yesterday from him, i'd been out shooting and bagged a few rabbits. i was unloading the rifles out of the truck and he wondered out side, he had his nose in the air a few seconds then all of a suden he flew stiaght into the back and started ragging everything. when i got out he'd locked onto one and wasn't letting go, i've never done any rabbiting so i dont know why he went off like that, anyway i gave him a good fuss after scruff

thanks everyone, whats you've said is great. at leats now i can make a start and it doesn't feel like i've wasted a terrier. going back to the sport, there was none that day, nieather any vermin control but thats been and gone. i do know what you mean tho. i've got a shitter on at the minute trying to clear a load of rabbits, babbies alover the place thanks for the advice, i'm sure he's got what it takes and i'll keep you posted scruff

do you think if a terriers got enough heart, it would still be too late to make a start at 2 year old. i bought the dog with full intensions of working him, but things never worked out. i know lots of terriermen but it seems there no all sportsmen. The two true terriermen i know both were happy for me to join them, but working nights and weekends didn't fit in with when they were out. The others i could join as and when, but i wasn't impressed with there methods. scruff
